Please join us for our annual Mass of Remembrance to be held at St. Adalbert Basilica on Saturday, November 2nd, 2019 (All Souls Day). During this very special Mass we remember in a special way those who have gone before us. Singing at the Mass will be soprano vocalist Brittany Mruczek.

Those who would like to submit names to be remembered during the Mass are asked to complete and return the attached form - the names will be read and a candle will be lit in their memory (those who would like to bring forward the candle themselves during the Mass will have the opportunity to do so). St. Adalbert's Basilica will proudly be part of the 81st Annual General Pulaski Parade on Sunday, July 21st at 1:30 PM and you're invited to join us!

We'll be gathering in the Thruway Plaza parking lot (usually close to the M&T Bank) around NOON - if you'd like to walk with us just show up - preferably in red and white - and join the fun. All are welcome! Just look for the St. Adalbert's signs or for any of our parishioners like the Kniazuks or the Bruczs.

Hope to see you there!

Please join us for mass at 4 PM on Christmas Eve at St. Adalbert Basilica. This children's and family mass is a beautiful tradition and we look forward to welcoming old friends and new to celebrate with us!

All children are welcome to participate in the Christmas story; please arrive by 3:30 to receive instructions and costumes if you'd like to partipate.

We'll also continue the tradition of our Memory Trees. Please contact us if you'd like to hang an ornament on the tree for a recently deceased loved one.

Candles from our Remembrance Mass will be lit at the mass, and the Basilica will be beautifully decorated as always.

There's nothing like Christmas Mass in Buffalo's Historic Polonia at one of the most beautiful houses of worship in all of WNY.

Hope to see you there!

From the News:

Established by Polish immigrants in 1886, St. Adalbert Basilica has long been an iconic structure in what, for generations, was known as Polonia on Buffalo’s East Side. The church’s intricate stained-glass windows were imported from Germany and its magnificent altar has carved marble railings, sculpted angels above it and a detailed sculpture of the Last Supper adorned with gold mosaic tile along the base of the altar. The parish was designated a basilica in 1907 – the first in the United States to receive the designation. Today, Mass is celebrated in the basilica four times a year. The next Mass will be held at 3 p.m. on April 8- another Mass is set for 5:30 p.m. April 28 to celebrate the Feast of St. Adalbert.

Please join us for Divine Mercy Sunday at Saint Adalbert Basilica.

2 pm - Confessions
3 pm - Mass (fulfills your Sunday obligation)

Main celebrant - Fr. Michael Burzynski

Divine Mercy Sunday is an Observance in the Roman Catholic Church in which followers are encouraged to offer forgiveness and reconciliation to all. It is based on visions recorded from St. Faustian Kowalski. In 2000, it was decreed a solemnity, a high feast day, by Pope John Paul II. Roman Catholics are required to attend worship, go to confession, and take Holy Communion.

"The Message of Divine Mercy has always been near and dear to me … which I took with me to the See of Peter and which it in a sense forms the image of this Pontificate." - Pope John Paul II

St. Faustian was a Polish nun who lived in the early 20th century. She had visions much of her life. One that was the most profound was of Jesus, with one hand raised in blessing and with two fingers of his other hand resting on his heart. She said that Jesus asked her to have the image painted, and to include a prayer that said, "Jesus, I trust in you." This is the prayer that Catholics recite on Divine Mercy Sunday.
